Escape from the shadow of Corruption- Ponder and choose the Right Politician
As what we always witnessed in all forms of media, political corruption is a widespread issue in all parts of the globe. This is an international government undying epidemic that leads one nation to economic poverty and served as a threat on the future. The misuse of government power for evil purposes such as stealing government funds will just drown one's country to the ocean of scarcity. But who's to blame? Well, it is always on the politicians or officials who have the power and hold the position are susceptible to political corruption.
Bribery, cronyism, nepotism, extortion, graft, embezzlement and patronage are the forms of corruption. Fraudulence of politicians can manage criminal enterprise like drug trafficking and money laundering. The end point of this political corruption is kleptocracy which means "rule by thieves". Corrupt government officials who are supposed to protect the law and serve as a model are the one who breaks the rules to achieve their evil goals that are against on the welfare of all the citizens. This vicious circle is very tough to break that disfigures distribution of resources across all industries.
Anyway, it is always on the politician that we had been elected reflects all this situations and troubles. People just take election for granted without thinking a hundred times. A day of decision leads to years of sacrifice and sufferings. So, choosing a right politician is a call for good governance. If we want to eliminate corruption, it is up to us because it is on the people whether they want good or bad governance. Knowing first your candidate is just like seeing the countries future.
Many governments' organizations and citizens treat background check as their basis in choosing the right one. It includes politician's property ownership, home value, relatives, criminal history and associates. Several watchdog agencies have sprung over the world in modern times. The most trustworthy and systematic of them all is the Transparency International (TI) that is based in Berlin ,Germany. TI covers 85 chapters at the same time 64 countries around the globe. This agency is the creator of the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) state that smartly ranks each country surveyed on a score from 1(very high level of corruption) to 10 (clean score). The findings are surprising at the same time notable. This kind of agency tells whether we have good governance or just a parasite
Taking corruption seriously is challenge for all the citizens of one's country. Good governance is all we wanted to have equal benefits among all constituents. Corruption will always be a hindrance to progress and all its effects on our development are disastrous. Depending on public records being accessed and consulting to agencies are effective ways on eliminating corruption or just at least lessening it. Why wait and feel all the consequences of the never ending cycle of corruption if you can break it and take the lead of development? Go on! It is not too late!
